Row 1: Ch 42, dc in 4th ch from hook and next 38 ch, ch 8, turn. (40 dc/ 12 bls)
Row 2: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 4 ch, dc in next dc (2 bls inc), [ch 2, skip next 2 dc, dc in next dc] 13 times (13 sps over bls), thread over, draw up lp in top of turning ch where last dc was made, thread over and through 1 lp on hook (base st), [thread over and through 2 lps] twice, *thread over, draw up lp in base st, thread over and through 1 lp, [thread over and through 2 lps] twice, rep from * 4 times (2 bls inc), ch 5, turn.
Row 3: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next ch, dc in first dc (bl inc), [ ch 2, skip next 2 dc, dc in next dc] twice (2 sps), [ch 2, dc in next dc] 6 times (6 sps), 2 dc in next ch-2 sp, dc in next dc (bl over sp), [ch 2, dc in next dc] 6 times (6 sps), [ch 2, skip next 2 dc, dc in next dc] twice (2 sps), thread over, draw up lp in top of turning ch where last dc was made, thread over and through 1 lp on hook (base st), [thread over and through 2 lps] twice, *thread over, draw up in base st, thread over and through 1 lp, [thread over and through 2 lps] twice, rep from * once (bl inc), ch 5, turn.

Row 6: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 16 ch, dc in first dc ( 6 bls inc), 8 sps, [1 bl, 1 sp] 3 times, 1 bl, 8 sps, 6 bls inc, ch 8, turn.
Start with Row 7, continue to follow graph until Row 39 is completed, do not ch, turn.
Row 40: Sl st in next 3 dc, ch 3, follow graph across to last sp, 2 dc in last sp, dc in next dc, turn (1 bl dec at beg and end)
Continue to follow graph to top to complete doily, fasten off.
Spray lightly with starch, shape and let dry. Press with warm iron.

Pattern Notes
Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Sheel (sh): Work 2 dc, ch 2, 2dc in indicated st. When a rnd or row begins with a shell, simply sl st into ch-2 sp of sh, ch 3 for first dc then complete sheel with 1 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in same indicated st.
3-dc cl: (Yo hook once, insert hook in indicated st, yo, draw up a lp, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook) 3 times, yo, draw through all 4 lps on hook.

Note: Trim is worked in the outer edge dc or ch03 of shells in Rows 19-26 and between the 2 shells of Row 26 at tip of pineapples.
Rnd 1: Attach cream cotton in first ch-3 of Row 19, ch 1, * sc in side edge of Row 19, ch 3, sc in side edge of Row 18, ch 3, [3-dc cl in next row, ch 3, sc in next row, ch 3] 3 times, 3-dc cl between shells at top of Row 26, ch 3, sc in next row, ch 3, [‘3-dc cl in next row, ch 3, sc in next row, ch 3] 3 times, ch 3, sc in side edge of Row 19, ch 3 (trim around outer edge of 1 pineapple completed), rep from * around entire outer edge, sl st to join in beg sc, fasten off.
Starch doily and press.
